The region's picturesque attractiveness is enhanced by the blossoming landscapes and bright skies of spring and the warm weather and vibrant foliage of fall. In addition, there are less tourists during these months than during the busiest summer months, so guests may take advantage of the calm atmosphere and adventure activities without feeling crowded. However, while winters are difficult due to below-freezing temperatures, monsoons bring light to heavy rainfall that may cause landslides.

How to Reach Bir Billing

Bir cannot be reached by rail or aircraft directly. By private overnight bus from Delhi to Bir is the most convenient way to get to Bir. The closest broad gauge railway station is at Pathankot, which is located 142.2 km from Bir, however the closest narrow gauge railway station is Ahju, which is only 3 km from Bir. The closest airport, located 67.6 km from Bir in Gaggal, Dharamshala, offers restricted flight connectivity. The Dharamshala airport is connected to Delhi and Kullu, while the Pathankot railway station is connected to the nation's major cities. Bir may be reached from Pathankot via bus or cab. Other airports close to Bir are in Chandigarh (290 km), Amritsar airport (260 km) and New Delhi (520 km).
