Auli - The skiing destination of India

How to Reach Auli

From Delhi Taking bus from Delhi to Rishikesh is the most convenient method to get to Auli. This is an overnight trip.

You have two options for transportation from Rishikesh: shared taxi to Joshimath (8 hours) or private taxi straight to Auli (9 hours).

Taking shared taxi to Joshimath and then boarding India's Second Longest Cable Car to Auli might be more enjoyable option. After riding this 16-kilometer, 22-minute cable car that offers you breath-Breaking vistas of the Himalayan Garhwal Ranges, take taxi from Rishikesh to Joshimath.

Though they might promise you otherwise, keep in mind that taxi and bus drivers avoid driving on the roads between Rishikesh and Joshimath after dusk.

From the Badrinath

Numerous taxis transport people from Badrinath to Auli. The nearest airport is Dehradun's Jolly Grant Airport.

From Joshimath

What is the best time to visit Auli?

The winter months of December through February, when temperatures vary from -8°C to 10°C, are the ideal times to visit Auli. The significant snowfall that turns Auli into a magnificent winter wonderland makes this time of year perfect for skiing and other winter sports. Visitors should be ready for possible travel delays and the cold, though. If you're not into skiing, the summer months of April through June provide nice weather for outdoor activities. May through November is also a good time to take in Auli's natural beauty.
