Foothills Trek with Indrahar Pass – Mcleodganj
Within the vast, stunning Dhauladhar mountains of the Himalayas, Indrahar Pass is like a secret gateway. At 4350 meters above sea level, it is located close to the serene Himachal Pradesh town of Dharamshala. This pass, which rises from 2874 meters to 4350 meters, resembles a line drawn between the districts of Kangra and Chamba.
Starting in the little village of Mcleodganj, which is located just outside of Dharamshala, the journey takes you all the way up to Indrahar Pass. You will travel past well – known locations including Triund, Laka Glacier, and Lahesh Caves. However, be advised that walking over those Dhauladhar ridges is not a simple task!
Despite following a path that the Gaddi shepherds use to reach their summer pastures in the upper Ravi Valley and Lahaul, the hike to Indrahar Pass is not an easy one. It takes a lot of uphill walking, occasionally over difficult terrain, to reach Indrahar Pass. From the summit, visitors may enjoy breathtaking views of the snow-capped Pir Panjal Range to the north, the holy Mani Mahesh Kailash peak to the south, and the Indian plains to the south. You feel like you’re on top of the world!
