With Silserh Lake Palace lining the water reservoir, Siliserh Lake is a fantastic tourist destination that spans a vast 7 square kilometre area. The lake is one of the area’s most well-known picnic locations. The Siliserh Lake Palace, a renowned royal retreat surrounded by the breathtaking Siliserh Lake and the undulating hills of the Aravalli range, was recently transformed into a heritage hotel by the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC). Along with the large number of migratory birds that visit during peak seasons, popular crowd-attracting activities include boating and fishing. Situated 16 kilometres from Alwar city, it is easily accessible and likely the greatest place to escape the heat of Rajasthan!
Originally called Mewat, Alwar was a Rajput state in antiquity. For his adored wife, Shila, Maharaja Vinay Singh, the monarch of Alwar, constructed this splendid palace on the shores of Silserh Lake in 1845 AD. In the beginning, the Silserh Lake Palace served as a royal lodge for hunting and lodging. Later on, it was transformed into a complete palace.
Since the weather is generally milder and more comfortable throughout the winter months of October through February, this is the ideal time of year to visit Siliserh Lake Palace and Alwar and take in the natural beauty of the area. The surrounding Aravalli hills are covered in a lush green carpet during the rainy season after June, which is a breathtaking sight. It becomes really hot throughout the summer.
Through the six-lane Delhi-Gurgaon-Jaipur highway, Alwar is reachable by road from major Indian cities like New Delhi and Jaipur. The distance between the two cities is 160 km. Siliserh Lake Palace is 16 km from Alwar’s city centre. There are excellent interstate public and private transportation connections to other major towns and cities, including as Agra, Dausa, Mathura, Gwalior, Kota, Gurugram, etc.
Alwar is home to the closest major train station. The closest major airports to Alwar are Jaipur International Airport and Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.
