Situated close to Dharamshala and Mcleodganj, the small hippy village of Dharamkot is a charming settlement that does not receive many tourists.
Known as the Yoga Village, it’s a great place to get away and meditate quietly. The small village is endowed with breathtaking views of the powerful Dhauladhar peaks and the neighboring Kangra Valley. Dharamkot, which is home to the Tushita Buddhist Meditation Centre and the Dhamma Shikhara Vipassana Meditation Centre, strikes a delicate balance between being an adventurer’s paradise and a tranquil town for yoga retreats.
Since Dharamkot serves as the starting point for several of the most well-known walks in the area, such as the Triund and Indraprahar Pass treks, trekking is one of the most popular activities there. This is most likely the reason the small town is regarded as a refuge and a must-see for travelers and backpackers. Nonetheless, stay away from Dharamkot if you want a laid-back vacation and don’t want to hike or explore. The entire village is connected by a single, narrow walkway that ends at the “Trek and Dine Cafe” and leads to it.
