Calangute Beach, located 15 km from Panjim, is the longest beach in North Goa, running from Candolim to Baga. Because of its sheer size and popularity, it attracts tourists and backpackers from all over the world.

How to Reach Calangute Beach in Goa

Calangute is one of North Goa’s most popular beaches, and it is well connected by a variety of transportation choices and highways.

  • If you are travelling from Panjim, it is only 16 km away and can be easily reached by taking a local bus or renting bikes or vehicles from Panjim.
  • Thivim Railway Station is also nearby, at about 19 miles, and a taxi from there would cost between INR 300 and 400.
  • The Dabolim Airport is approximately 39 kilometres from Calangute. The cost of getting from the airport to Calangute is expected to be between INR 1,200 and 2,000.

Need to Know 

  • Visit over Christmas and New Year’s to get the full beach experience.
  • Avoid visiting the area between June and September since the sea is harsh. However, during the monsoon season, the area takes on a unique appeal.
  • Calangute Beach has many changing rooms near the main entrance that cost around INR 25 per person.
  • A locker facility is available for storing personal belongings.
