Pulga, Parvati Valley, Kasol – A village with a sprinkle of magic!
Three kilometers from Barshaini, in the Parvati Valley, is the settlement of Pulga. Nestled among apple orchards, rivers, and thick deodar trees, Pulga is renowned for its natural beauty and wooden homestays. At 2,210 meters above sea level, Pulga is one of three little settlements near Barshainia, together with Kalga and Tulga. It is a nature lover’s delight.
Even though it isn’t very populous, the Fairy Forest, a deep deodar forest, offers breathtaking vistas of the snow-capped Himalayan mountains, the verdant Parvati Valley, waterfalls, and wooden bridges. Pulga, which is only reachable on foot, is renowned for its traditional wooden homes and frequently allows visitors to interact with locals. There are also a number of eateries and guesthouses there.
How to reach Pulga
It takes roughly fifteen minutes to walk from Barshaini to Pulga, which is about 3 kilometers away. Barshaini is roughly 20.1 km from Kasol and takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes to get there by automobile or taxi (costs vary).
Pulga Highlights
1. Apple Farms
During the harvest season, which runs from mid-June to August, tourists can discover trees laden with apples and, with permission from the locals, pick a few. Pulga is well-known for its apple fields.
2. Trekking and Hiking
Because Pulga is only accessible by foot from Barshaini and the Fairy Forest is only a short hike from the village, it’s a great place for hiking.
3. Interesting Facts
It’s interesting to note that most of the children in Pulga village are able to hula hoop and are frequently delighted to perform for guests. Due to the absence of roads, visitors occasionally have the opportunity to observe how groceries are brought into Pulga via the ropeway.
