Shri Raghunath Temple, Mount Abu – Aarti Timings, History
On the shores of Nakki Lake on Mount Abu, the 650-year-old Shri Raghunath Ji Temple is devoted to Lord Vishnu’s rebirth. Vaishnavites, who view the temple as one of the holiest sites on earth, make up the majority of its visitors. It is said that Raghunath Ji frees his disciples from the suffering and issues of life and protects them from all natural disasters. Numerous wall inscriptions and the exquisite paintings and sculptures of the Raghunath Temple are examples of Mewar’s architectural legacy. One of the primary draws is the wonderfully sculpted idol of Shri Raghunath Ji.
Two stories are also told to us by legend. One is about a lovely princess who fell in love with Mount Abu’s ruling son but was rejected by her stepmother. The shrine was built in her honor, and it is thought that she passed away early because she was unable to wed her lover. According to legend, the renowned Hindu scholar Shri Ramanand constructed the Raghunath temple in Mount Abu in the fourteenth century.
