Kuldhara Village Jaisalmer (History, Distance, Images & Location)
Did you know that one of India’s most haunted villages is Kuldhara? Kuldhara’s abandoned, winding, and historic streets are the inspiration for many eerie mythology, ghost stories, and paranormal reports.
Kuldhara, a once-prosperous village, is located 17 kilometres from Jaisalmer. Today, all that remains of the town are a number of dilapidated, open buildings. This cursed ghost town, Kuldhara, puts people’s minds at peace and instantly boosts their belief in metaphysical and paranormal phenomena.
The narrative proceeds as follows: Approximately 1,500 Paliwal Brahmins, who have lived in this village in peace and happiness for more than five centuries, once called it home. However, the whole population—85 villages included—vanished in the middle of the night one night, leaving behind a curse that still lingers there. No one is aware of their departure location. People have been speculating about the possible cause of the people’s sudden departure for ages.
There are rumours that the terrible prime minister, Salim Singh, who was well-known for his nefarious tax collection methods, fell in love with a Paliwal Brahmin girl and chose to marry her against her will. Salim Singh vowed to punish the village more severely if the marriage did not go through. The locals requested for some time, but instead of saying “yes,” they departed their homes for the night. However, they cursed the settlement such that no one could ever live there before they passed away.
According to some accounts, the Paliwal community was forced to leave and just vanish from the ruler’s grasp as a result of the high taxes imposed upon them. The community is still faithful to the curse even after so many years of this disaster since the Jaisalmer people attempted to stay here but were unsuccessful.
Numerous paranormal clubs and ghost hunters have taken notice of this location because to its persistent unusual and unexplained behaviours. Travellers from all over the world come to Kuldhara to discover the eerie and dark side of Rajasthan and its hidden mysteries, which in a single evening turned this location into a place best left forgotten for the remainder of time.
