Himkoti, Vaishno Devi Overview

Himkoti is a viewpoint located on a new route close to Ardhkuwari, 4 km from Vaishno Devi Temple, 15 km from Katra Railway Station, and 2.5 km from Ardhkuwari. One of the most visited tourist destinations in Vaishno Devi, it is situated on the route from Katra to Vaishno Devi Temple.

There is no religious significance to Himkoti. The reason it attracts tourists is that Himakoti viewpoint offers a view of the entire valley, which each traveler adores and treasures as he makes his way home. The location is stunning and immaculate. Take a break from your pilgrimage to appreciate Himkoti’s natural splendor. It’s also a fantastic spot for family picnics and relaxation.

Since this viewpoint is on the new path to the sacred cave from Katra, the Shrine Board is developing Himkoti with lovely gardens, a man-made lake, and a meditation center. The new track ends just short of Bhavan Complex after beginning just below Ardhkuwari. Pilgrims favor this path the most because it is 0.5 km shorter than the previous one to the cave. Additionally, there is no horse rush and the route is less steep. Devotees have ample space here to unwind, rest, and take in the breathtaking views of the verdant valley.

Instead of beginning the yatra to the temple at night, one should do so during the day. Restaurants, dosa counters, cooked meal shops, and cassette counters have all been established by the shrine board. Medical care and oxygen cylinders are among the other amenities offered here. This track is used to run the battery car from Ardhkuwari. The ability to make reservations is contingent upon availability.
