Hanuman Garhi is a temple devoted to the Hindu god Hanuman that dates back to the tenth century and is situated near Sai Nagar. Since Hanuman Garhi is typically visited before the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, it is one of the most significant temples in the city. The temple site protecting Ayodhya is thought to have been the residence of Lord Hanuman.

A 76-step staircase leads to the entrance of the hilltop temple. The statue of Hanuman, which is six inches tall, is housed amid the expansive vista of the surrounding hills. Numerous statues of Lord Hanuman and his mother, Maa Anjani, are displayed in an interior grotto of the main shrine. Thousands of devotees flock to the Hanuman Garhi during Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti, which commemorate the birth of Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman, respectively.

History of Hanuman Garhi, Ayodhya

There are 76 steps leading up to this temple, which was constructed in the 10th century by the Nawab of Awadh. The main temple is a huge building that resembles a four-sided fort with circular bastions at each corner. It contains a statue of Hanuman that is six inches tall. Numerous statues of Lord Hanuman and his mother, Maa Anjani, are displayed in an interior grotto of the main shrine.

How To Reach Hanuman Garhi, Ayodhya 

Ayodhya’s Hanuman Garhi is conveniently located near highways, trains, and airports. The Hanuman Garhi, also called the Faizabad Airport, is located 8 to 10 km from the Ayodhya Airport in Faizabad. You can drive alone or take a taxi for 18 to 30 minutes to get there. The temple is about 2 km from Dharmakata’s Ayodhya Railway Station.

It would just take ten minutes to drive or twenty-five minutes to walk to the attraction. The closest bus stop is in Ram Katha Park; it’s roughly 1.9 to 3 km distant, making it a half-hour walk or a 10-minute drive. The distance from Rajkiya Uddyan Cantonment Road and the bus stations in Faizabad is roughly 11 kilometres.
