DESTINATIONS: DELHI – DHARAMSALA – KARERI-BAHL –TRIUND – LAKA GOT -INDERHARA PASS – BHAGSU NAG – AMRISTAR
Duration: 9 nights/ 10 days
DAY 1: ARRIVE NEW DELHI – PATHANKOT BY TRAIN
Arrive New Delhi, pick-up by our representative & transfer to Hotel & relax. In the late evening transfer to Railway station to board overnight train for Pathankot. O/n in Train.
DAY 2: PATHANKOT – DHARAMSALA (85 Km / 2 hrs drive)
Morning arrive at Pathankot Railway station, pick-up by our representative & drive to Dharamsala. On arrival check into the hotel & relax. Afternoon enjoy the sightseeing of Dharamsala including McLeod Ganj, the home of his holiness Dalai Lama. Later visit the other temples, Tibetan Library, Museum & market. O/n in Hotel.
DAY 3: MCLEOD GANJ – SATOBARI – KARERI (1900 M) 5 hours walk
Morning after breakfast drive 5 kms to reach the starting point of the trek, Satobari. It is downhill walk through the pine forest for about two hours from Satobari to Ghera Village. Enroute we visit Barnet village. At Ghera we cross a small stream over an improvised bridge to start our ascent to Kareri village. Camp outside the village near a small fresh water stream. Kareri is a gaddi traibal village with about 40-50 houses. O/n in Camp.
DAY 4: KARERI VILLAGE – BAHL VILLAGE (1900m) 13 kms / 5-6 hours walk.
Gradual walk for two hours takes us to Rawa village, situated on the bank of Rawa river. Enroute we cross Khari Bahi village. From Rawa it is steep ascent for about three hours to Bahl Village. Camp near a small stream. The area is rich of beautiful Himalayan birds. O/n in Camp.
DAY 5: BAHL – TRIUND (2870m) 12 kms / 4-5 hours walk.
Steep ascent through mixed forest of aok, rhododendron and cedar trees takes us to Triund, an alpine meadow situated on top of a ridge. From here we have close superb views of peaks of Dhauladhar on one side and Kangra valley on the other. O/n in Camp.
DAY 6: TRIUND – KUNAL PATHRI- LAKA GOT (3200M) – LAKA GOT 7 KMS
This short stage is included in order to get acclimatized to the steep rise in altitude. After breakfast we walk further upto khabrotu, from where we will do a side walk to a small temple situated on top of a hill. Come back to Khabrotu and then continue to Laka got, an alpine pasture situated at the snout of a small glacier called Laka glacier. The glacier is full of snow from Feburary to June and starts receding back as soon as the monsson comes. Laka got is also a temporary camp for all shepherd and trekker going over the Inderhara pass into Chamba valley. O/n in Camp.
DAY 7: LAKA GOT – INDERHARA PASS (4300M) – LAKA GOT
This is one of the most beautiful and adventurous day of the trek. We leave after an early breakfast. It is steep ascent over a ridge for about three to four hours to the top of the pass. During early summer(April to June) we have to walk on the snow and ice to reach the top of the pass. Good waterproof shoes that can fit crampons on are necessary to walk on the snow and ice. Early start is important in order to get to the pass before the clouds come up. During post monsson there is now snow on the trail. From the pass we have beautiful views of the peaks of cental Himalayas on one side and kangra valley on the other. We spend some time at the pass and then descend down to the camp at Laka got. O/n in Camp.
DAY 8: LAKA GOT – BHAGSU NAG – MCLEOD GANJ
Walking downhill over a grassy ridge for about two hours we reach Laheta, a summer village for the the Gaddi tribe. From Laheta it is another one hours steep descent passing to the waterfall in Churan river near Bhagsu Nag village. Lunch near the waterfall. Afer lunch walk two kms to Mcleod Ganj. Trek Ends. Later drive to Dharamsala &Check into the hotel.
DAY 9: DHARAMSALA – AMRITSAR (190 Km / about 5 hrs drive)
Morning after breakfast drive to Amritsar. Its name derives from the name of the pool around the Golden Temple and means “holy pool of nectar”. On arrival check into the hotel & relax. Afternoon drive about 30 Km to Wagha Border (Indo-Pak Border) & enjoy flag ceremony. Later return to hotel. O/n in Hotel.
DAY 10: AMRITSAR – DELHI BY TRAIN
Early morning visit the Golden temple in Sunrise. Later back to hotel for breakfast. After that visit the Jaliawala Bagh, this site is witness to one of the most brutal incidents that took place during the Indian freedom struggle & to pay homage to the thousands killed in this incident, the Jaliawala Bagh was built, later visit other Hindu temples & museum of Summer Palace. Later transfer to Railway station to board train for Delhi. On arrival in Delhi at Railway station, pick-up by our representative & transfer to International Airport to board your return flight.
