Vrindavan is a temple town unlike any other, home to some of Uttar Pradesh’s finest temples, each one exquisitely crafted with exquisitely sculpted idols. The Vaishno Devi temple in Vrindavan is one of the most revered of the many temples to visit in Mathura and Vrindavan.
The Hindu Mother Goddess Devi took on the form of Vaishno Devi. Trikuta, Ambe, Mata Rani, and Vaishnavi are some of her other names. “Maa” and “Mata” are commonly used to refer to Vaishno Devi. Vaishno Devi is the result of the union of Parvati, Lakshmi, and Saraswati. It is among the top temples in Vrindavan to visit.
The Maa Vaishno Devi Dham is located in Vrindavan, one of India’s holiest cities. All followers of Maa Vaishno Devi are able to worship their deity and fulfil their responsibilities to help the poor in the Dham. Millions of devotees travel to the Dham each year from all around India and the world.
History of Vaishno Devi Dham
Legend is as potent as the Goddess herself, and it also tells a lovely tale. Legend has it that during the Treta Yuga (the second yuga of Hindu mythology), the Earth was in danger from malevolent forces. In order to save herself, the Earth Goddess Bhumi turned to the Trimurti for help. Being helpless, their consorts, Saraswati, Lakshmi, and Parvati, came together to become Vaishno Devi. The goddess defeated evil and remained on Earth to protect it after numerous battles.
Hindu mythology states that Ardha Kunwari, which is roughly midway between Katra town and the cave, was Vaishno Devi’s first residence. Vaishno Devi was pursued and caught by Bhairon Nath. “I will perform penance in this cave for nine months; please do not allow Bhairon Nath to enter the cave until then,” Devi said to Hanuman when she reached a refuge atop the hill. Hanuman did as his mother had told him. Bhairavnath consequently remained outside of this cave, which is today called “Ardha Kunwari.”
Thousands of people visit the Vaishno Mandir in Katra, Jammu, every year to seek the blessings of Maa Vaishno Devi. Some people, though, are unable to go to their religious services. In order to construct the Maa Vaishno Devi Mandir at another of Lord Krishna’s holy sites, the Jay Kay Trust, under the direction of its Managing Trustee Sh. J C Chaudhry, purchased the land in 2003.
J C Chaudhry is a follower of Maa Vaishno Devi. In May 2010, he finished the enormous and exquisite Maa Vaishno Devi Mandir in Vrindavan.

Entry Fee, Visit Timings and Aarti Timings
This temple does not charge admission. The temple is open from 6:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Every day of the week, it is open. Gufa is open from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm by day and from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm by night. October through March are the ideal months to visit Vaishno Devi Dham.
Aarti times are as follows: Mangal Aarti at 6:00 am, Bhog Aarti at 1:00 pm, Shringar Aarti (Evening) at 7:00 pm, Shayan Aarti at 8:00 pm, and Shringar Aarti (Morning) at 7:00 am.
Things to Do in the Vaishno Devi Dham
It’s wonderful to pay respects at this location. In addition, Mata ki Chowki, also known as Jagrata, is well-known within the temple. This requires a reservation in advance. This is without a doubt one of Vrindavan’s must-see tourist attractions.
How to Reach the Vaishno Devi Dham
From Agra (about 70 kilometres away on NH2) to Delhi (about 145 kilometres away on NH2), there is easy access.
The nearest train station is Mathura Junction (MTJ), which is ten kilometres away from the temple. From the train station, you can drive or take a rickshaw to this temple.
In Vrindavan, Chhatikara is a well-liked tourist site. An automobile doesn’t cost a lot; a rickshaw, or local transportation, from Mathura won’t cost you more than Rs 30.
