On November 25, 2017, the rock-themed Jatayu Nature Park opened. The tourism center, which was constructed to promote mythology and adventure travel, features an ayurveda cave resort, a digital audio-visual room, a 6D theater, and a cable car. It is also home to numerous adventure sports including paintball, laser tag, archery, bouldering, rock climbing, air-rifle shooting etc. However, the park’s main draw is the largest stone-cut bird sculpture in the world, which is a reproduction of the mythical Ramayana bird Jatayu.

About Jatayu Earth’s Centre

It redefines Kerala’s sanctuary as the first-of-its-kind destination tourist venture! It was created in partnership with the state government and was conceived and designed by Rajiv Anchal, the director of Malayali. Under the BOT (Built-Operate-Transfer) model, the project is the first of its kind to involve a public-private cooperation. The idea is to combine technology, history, epic, and art. It is situated on the same hill where Jatayu, the demi-god, died after losing to Ravana in a battle to free Sita from his grasp. In addition to being a popular tourist destination, the park plans to give the community access to sustainable energy sources and rainwater collection. In actuality, solar energy is also used to generate the electricity needed for the project.

Jatayu Sculpture

After it is finished, the Jatayu Bird Sculpture, which measures 200 feet long by 150 feet wide by 70 feet high and occupies 15,000 square feet, is anticipated to be the largest stone sculpture in the world. In addition to being an enormous sight, the Jatayu Sculpture is said to provide three bizarre experiences.

Two floors of the museum housed within the sculpture are devoted to the representation of the Treta Yuga, the period during which Ramayan took place. Multi-dimensional digital images and paintings from the same mythology will be displayed on the third floor.

The theater, which is housed inside the wings of the enormous bird sculpture, has an audiovisual presentation of the well-known battle between Ravana and Jatayu, the legendary vulture who lost his life attempting to rescue Sita from Ravana’s grasp.

A staircase will lead to the summit of the Jatayu, which will provide a bird’s eye perspective. From this location, visitors can enjoy an eye-pleasing view of the Arabian Sea and Kerala’s countryside.
