The Corbett Museum honours Sir Edwar James Corbett, also referred to as Jim Corbett, by displaying his life’s work and possessions. During the British conquest of India, Jim Corbett, a British hunter, became a naturalist and conservationist. The first National Park in India was named in honour of Mr. Corbett because of his significant impact on wildlife conservation. Jim Corbett was the proprietor of Choti Haldwani, a small community close to Kaladungi village. After British colonists departed India in 1947, he gave the 89 hectares of property to the villagers, where the Corbett Museum is now located. His winter residence in Uttarakhand was a bungalow at the Corbett Museum.

History Of Corbett Museum
