A.P.J. Abdul Kalam House Museum in Rameshwaram (Timings, Entry Fee)
A. P. J. Abdul Kalam House, which has been turned into a museum, offers a fascinating tourism option that is well worth seeing. Unquestionably, one of the most visited locations in Rameshwaram is Kalam House. Mosque Street is where it’s located.
This house was the childhood home of Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, one of India’s most popular presidents and one of the country’s greatest scientists. His mother, Ashiamma, and father, Jainulabdeen, a boat owner, reared him and his brother here. Often referred to as Kalam House, it is a worthwhile destination on a Rameshwaram Tour.
This house, where he had spent his early years, was turned into a museum in 2011. Maintained by his elder brother Mohammed Muthu Meera Lebbai Maraicker, this museum gives a glimpse into the life of one of India’s greatest leader Former President A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, an insight into his boyhood and his numerous achievements.
Numerous photos depicting the late president’s early years and childhood are on display within the home. There is a wealth of knowledge about the late president Dr. APJ Kalam in the house’s collections, which are set out to provide an insight into his life. Medals, honours, pictures from his early years, and his research projects are all on display at the museum. Materials demonstrating his highly esteemed contribution to defence research and development are also available.
Visitors can purchase a variety of seashell goods and handcrafted gifts from the small store located on the ground floor of the Kalam house. The house’s second level has been transformed into an art gallery. The building’s first floor is devoted to the museum.
Timings and Entry Fee of Former President A.P.J Abdul Kalam House
On weekdays, Kalam House is open from 8 a.m. till 7 p.m. On the weekends, it is closed. The Kalam House in Rameswaram has a very low admission price. The admission fee to the museum is just Rs. 5 for tourists.
